The Cheese Grater is the alternative magazine at UCL Union, for those
who wish to read something intelligent, funny and biting. It was founded
in March 2004, largely in disgust at Pi
Magazine, and until recently was still edited by the same mad/sad bastard.
Twice a term, we publish a mammoth 8/12 page magazine and dump it all over the Union, and in one of the drop bins at Union Reception. Each copy is then lovingly chucked away and recycled. But we're taking a stand, and that's what matters. We publish humorous and satirical pieces, investigative articles, and some of the finest cartoons in London. We don't accept work from any old twat (of which UCL has thousands) nor to we aim to please everybody. We aim to be low on budget but unrivalled on quality. This approach has netted us three awards in as many years. You can sign up to the mailing list by emailing us or come to our meetings on Tuesdays at 6:00pm in Room 212 of the Clubs and Societies Centre, 2nd floor, Bloomsbury Building, UCL Union. |
Oh, and we got the Provost to do this. |
